Homage to Catherine Segurane

We got caught up in a celebration (demonstration) yesterday early evening after having a drink in Place Garibaldi.

It was the birthday of Catherine Segurane, a famous French women from the 15th Century who apparently bared her bottom as some Turkish invaders and frightened them off.

This event was called by the organisers a celebration but being in the midst it felt more like a demonstration with a very unfriendly undertone towards immigrants.

I do wonder how many people attended last year and if the recent events on Bastille Day has flavoured the celebration is some way.
