A Collector of Oddities

Kirking

As a precursor to the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches the Captain and Lass (here on either side of the Lord Provost with former Captains and Lasses in attendance) are received into Greyfriars Kirk and passed the flag which is to be carried around the boundary of the city next Sunday and returned safe and sound. Today the Captain and Lass walked around the Flodden Wall inspecting it and scattered soil collected from Flodden field.

This was a very understated affair as compared to next Sunday where it will be difficult to avoid nearly 300 horses cantering up the Royal Mile!
