Leaving dry dock

MV Forth Hope has finally emerged from  David Abel’s Dry Dock in Bristol.  For years she sat as a half built rusting ferry that had originally been designed for the English channel but although her sister ship was completed this vessel went into administration. Now she will be used by the Vine Trust to add significant capacity to their medical work and benefit up to 2 million people over the next 25 years.
Forth Hope will soon start her delivery voyage to Babcock Rosyth on the River Forth where internal outfitting and equipping will take place over the summer and autumn months. The ship will be set up with new equipment throughout, air conditioned en-suite cabin accommodation for her staff, volunteers and crew, and expanded medical, dental, minor op and laboratory facilities.
The Vine Trust is an international interdenominational volunteering charity which seeks to enable volunteers to make a real and significant difference to some of the poorest children and communities in the world. They welcome people from all backgrounds who share their ethos of caring and their belief that whilst we can’t help everyone we can all help someone.  At present they work in Tanzania and in Peru.  For more information    click here
