Vienna - Schoenbruin Palace

Day 6 of our Danube River Cruise.  Early in the morning we departed our wonderful ship, the Vista, to check into a Hotel for our stay in Vienna.  Even though we had visited the Schoenbrunn Place some 15 years ago, seeing the Habsburg's summer Palace is a must because it represents the importance and power of the capital of the former Austrian Empire.  The day was bright with sunlight making the gardens and the grounds of the palace even more beautiful.  Dave and I enjoyed taking our time exploring the grounds before we toured inside the palace.  In the evening we enjoyed a dinner at the Mayer Winery in an romantic old house of the Mayer family.  The house was completely unchanged since Ludwig van Beethoven lived there in 1817.  Since Beethoven lived in over 70 different places in Vienna during his lifetime, we were not sure that it was going to be that special!  But it truly was a delightful evening to have a traditional Vienna dinner in such a beautiful setting.
