A Tale or Two

A good drying day so all the camping gear was aired in the back sitooteri. Then I trotted over to pick up the boaty post but I was waylaid. For PT was back from his huge jaunt across the Pacific. With tales to tell. Mostly of how he wanted to wring the captain's neck, but more than entertaining enough. Anyway, we blethered for such a time that PT realised it was 1:45pm and he’d agreed to crew at 1:30pm. And we’d actually watched the boats leave the pontoon. Doh.
Not a second to waste then. We rushed to the pontoon and got Dumbo cranked in to life and we chased down the race boats. They’d all left the harbour, but throwing caution to the winds, on we headed. Regulations be damned! Make way for the ex-Commodore! Unfortunately the race had just started so hopping aboard wasn’t possible. And then we realised that the harbourfuhrer was on one of the yachts and was looking sternly in our direction. PT grabbed the tiller off me. Take pictures, he hissed.. we’ll say we were photographing the event. Quick thinking. I snapped away. We may yet escape the charge sheet.
So, back to the pontoon to sit in the sun and enjoy a cold beer. Where were we? Ah yes, half way across the Pacific.
