Memorable

When I was a child we lived near the Kodak processing plant in Hemel Hempstead. Whenever we got home from a holiday my father and I would drive the 7 or so miles to Hemel and drop our film off to be processed. It was our special job that we always did - just the 2 of us. I never thought to question why we didn't just post it. Then of course we had to wait a week to get the prints back! Those were the days.
I later found out that my Grandmother worked for Kodak in the 1890's. I only found this out through the census so I don't know what she did there but I imagine it was quite 'cutting edge' at the time. We do seem to have a lot of photos of her.
It saddens me that the brand is not still around.
