Seats 3 & 4

It was a great day for a 4:00 ballgame, with the Washington Nationals playing the Atlanta Braves and winning 6-4.  It looks like I will never get another shot like the one I got at the ballpark last year, (the black and white version of which has won 3 blue ribbons in various competitions.)  Major League Baseball is in the process of extending the safety nets beyond just behind home plate to past the dugouts in all the stadiums. We have wonderful seats, 3 rows behind the Nationals dugout, which used to make you feel like you were practically on the field.  Now we have to watch the game through a net which makes photos almost impossible.  I tried today to get some interesting shots, but the net spoiled them.  So as we were leaving I snapped this photo of the seats. Not very interesting or inspired, but that's all I've got, without a net.

In fairness to Major League Baseball, the nets have a good purpose.  A number of people over the years have been badly injured by broken flying bats, so this is an effort to prevent any further injuries.
