Plums and Custard

Our first real foray of the season today, led by yours truly and Roger. It went really well! Firstly, we had excellent weather. Warm and sunny but with a light breeze to keep it comfortable, Then we had a good turnout - 15 or so, which is pretty good for an out of the way spot for many.  Also, we found a really good range of interesting fungi, some of which we were able to identify on the spot, others were tentatively named, and a few were a bit of a mystery, so were brought home for me to work on. Last but not least, we were joined by fellow blipper Viewpoint aka Wendy, so as well it was a foray, it was a Blipmeet. Great to meet you Wendy!
This fungus rejoices in the name Tricholomopsis rutilans, commonly Plums and Custard, based on its wine red cap and golden yellow gills. f this was the dessert, you can see the main course - Cauliflower fungus - in extras.
