Dependent

Ayr harbour was a busy little place this morning with 4 ships tied alongside.  Liked this shot of the Northern Rock and Dependent moored on either side of the entrance to the inner harbour.  The light on the Dependent also adds quite a bit.

Just to the right of this shot the Ben Maye was unloading what appeared to be a cargo of rock salt.

The extra today shows a rather different vessel sitting at the Waverly’s normal spot.  It is the Williams II also known as the Blyth Tall Ship.  She has been restored to be able to mark the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the Antarctic land mass by a similar vessel from Blyth.  The idea is to recreate the original voyage of Captain William Smith from Blyth in 1819.
