The Fab Two

Took the brave decision to walk to the coast. A half an hour walk may not seem a great deal at eleven o’clock in the morning, but in the 28oC+ heat and a cloudless sky meant we had to stop via the Celtic Isle for a quick bevy. Once cool(er) we headed to the Tourist Information centre to get our heads round the area a bit more. Starting to regret not hiring a car. Leaflets at hand we eventually arrived at our destination which boasted some gorgeous beaches, wonderful promenade and a range of pubs/bars/cafes/restaurants etc. This only meant one thing: lunch!
A taxi ride back was on the cards once some food shopping was done. Took quite some time to pick the foods we wanted. The language barrier being the obvious one, but noticed the produce, meats were somewhat much larger and better quality than those at home. Notably the spring onions that had bulbs the same size of normal onions in seen GB. And they only came in bunches of three! We bought one bunch. Another thing that got me was that for some reason I was convinced that all Spanish beers were brewed and imported from Malta. Then realised afterwards that malta in Spanish is indeed, erm, malt in English. Doh! A more disturbing issue was when we came across some milk & dark chocolate, which were named Puro & 80% Negro Intenso, respectively. Mmmm. When I say “Mmmm” I meant we didn’t buy any!
Cooled off in the pool afterwards as you do.

No ABBA tonight. Just a nice quiet evening meal at the apartment followed by a game of Uno and Quiddler.
