Playfair

I was at an early meeting in Chambers St where this new statue of the great architect Playfair by the incomparable Sandy Stoddart has just been unveiled outside the National Museum and alongside Playfair's greatest creation , Old College.

It is of great power and is placed perfectly , with a good approach . Moreover it proves - as Sandy constantly asserts - that the classical age is far from dead.
