Old Mission Church

We were supposed to go to Glacier National Park on the Montana/Canada border today. Then some of my Facebook friends told me how precarious the roads in the park are (I am afraid of heights, especially mountain cliffs), so we modified our plans. We decided to head directly to Idaho when we left Butte, Montana. On our way, we visited the quaint town of Wallace, Idaho (population 784), which just happens to be the "silver capital of the world." Then, while searching in vain to see the local moose dine in the marshes, we found the Coeur d'Alene Old Mission State Park. The beautiful church in my photo is "The Mission of the Sacred Heart" which was constructed between 1850 and 1853. It is the oldest building in Idaho and still in operation.
