Wild Teasel

On a walk round Forge Lake (RSPB Nature Reserve at Sandwell Valley, West Midlands) this afternoon I discovered dozens of these teasels. many well over 6 feet tall. When ripe and gone to seed they are a favorite food source for goldfinches. I attract goldfinches to my garden, not with teasel plants, but with feeders full of nyger seed.
