Birthday boy

23 today and off we trot to a restaurant that Tricia and I last visited 24 years ago. Lovely setting and a decent meal - even a candle provided for the little one. Too hot then for much else and certainly no need for much to eat in the evening.
The big downer of the day is that the water in our main source has, not unexpectedly, run dry. Out came the pumps and a bucket and so now we are pumping up water from the little spring below the house. The Mayor has promised town water for next Spring so life should avoid this particular drama in the future. That said, he promised it "within two years" when we purchased the ruin fifteen years ago......
