Checked with the estate agents that the owner would still give us the same amount of money towards a double bed. Turns out yes luckily as we really don't want to be stuck in France with a bed.

Tried to go to the language cafe in the evening but we couldn't find them - instead we went for a wander along the banks of the Loire and spoke French to one another- Martin was suspiciously quiet.
