The Chesham Arms, Hackney

A few years ago this pub closed because the freeholders wanted to redevelop it into flats. after a 2 year campaign by the community, the council declared it to be a Community Asset, which meant that it had to revert to its former use. it has, indeed, now reopened and became CAMRA's pub of the year. We had an excellent pint of pale ale for £3.80 and sat in the garden.
