Alistair

He's happy.

He has been building a zendo just below the summit of a very fine Scottish mountain for just on 5 years now. When it is finished, he fully intends to use it. Of course if you happen to stumble across it, then I suspect you will find it a comfortable bothy providing shelter. And that's the wonderful thing about the people who walk and climb in these hills, they tend to respect such places.

So today was a 6am start from home, climb the mountain with building equipment cresting the summit around 11.30 am. Work until 6.30 pm and then descend for a well earned bar meal.

But I tell you the work that has gone into this place is awesome, carrying all the materials up the mountain, cement, timber, roofing (that was a 6 hour marathon involving four strong men who had to keep moving because of the midges), nuts, bolts - you get the idea.

Today he is happy because tomorrow the roof goes on. It's wonderful.
