Ceylon Tea Trails

Staying at a very nice place at the moment called the Summerville Bungalow which is part of the Ceylon Tea Trails in Hatton. In all my travels around the world, I am hard pressed to find a better place to stay!

It is very relaxing, and it is a long time since I have felt this 'chilled'. The landscape certainly helps and, while the tea plantations are not the natural environment, the views here are certainly very compelling.

The interesting thing about this shot is that interspersed among the tea bushes are none other than 'Aussie' Silky Oak trees! Apparently, these were imported by the British imperialists to provide some shade. It just seems so incongruous to see Silkies in this setting as they grow like weeds at my place in Queensland.
