Islay!

5:30am start! I know! Who knew there was a 5:30am? The ferry across was re-routed because of gales, but it was fine, it just meant a drive across the island. Well, they said re-routed, perhaps we were blown off course and they were too proud to admit it.

So where are we? Bowmore is the reply.

Top -  Colour advice...hmm, or is it just the colours that didn't sell well?

Middle - Bowmore's main street.

Lower left - The Round Church. It is alleged that it was built round so the devil couldn't hide in the corners. My theory it was round because that gives you the most floor space for least resource.

Lower Right - Bowmore Distillery. Oldest in Islay, nearly the oldest in Scotland. A fine dram.

But if you are not keen on Bowmore whisky there are many famous others around every corner. They are peaty though, I like peaty but not everyone does.
