Olympic Kayaks at Eton Dorney

Continuing my Olympic adventure.

Today I was treated to a trip to Eton Dorney for the Kayak and Canoe events.

The venue, built jointly by Eton College and London Olympics is magnificent and the organisation was once again superb.

Hungary had a fantastic day taking two gold medals. I had no idea there were so many Hungarians in the world, let alone in Windsor, they were amazing fans, the majority dressed in red white and green with crazy hats and wigs.

The great thing about not having any British stars was that we could choose a different country to cheer home in each race, much to the amusement of the international crowd we were amongst.

It was a great atmosphere with a huge crowd enjoying the sunshine after a very wet start.
Wearing two large union jacks as a rain cape, I leapt through the security scanner, to be pronounced a 'super-hero' for the day by the army personnel on duty.

The image is of the Women's Kayak Four (K4) 500m Sprint final, won by Hungary, seen here 5th from the camera. (GB nearest, finished in 8th place)
