Common darter

I am always in awe looking at any blips with dragonflies and damselflies. This is a first for me and I know it's very small. I was with my walking group and we didn't linger long by the local ponds. I think I have identified this correctly as a common darter. It was very wet before we started out but I was pleased I decided to go on the walk today. We walked nearly 9 miles down quiet country lanes and local commons and the sun eventually showed it's face. We lunched by the Gibraltar stone which has been donated by Gibraltar and commemorates all the Royal Marines and Commandos who since 1940 have trained on Woodbury Common and gone on to serve their country.
