A morning in the Park

After 2 days of glorious sunshine spent in the confines of a loft, the weather broke and we set off with waterproofs. From Green Park tube station we walked down (up?) Picadilly to Hyde Park and then along the Park's fabulous herbaceous garden beds to the Serpentine where we kicked ourselves for not bringing swimming costumes. For £4.50 we could have swum in the Sepentine lido. Next time. Then on to the Serpentine Summer Pavilion, as recommended by Arachne. We may have had light drizzle, but it wasn't hard to imagine what sun and shadows could do to the lines of this glorious structure. And a few minutes away were the 4 summer houses; unfortunately Asif Khan's uncle had gone, but what a beautiful house. Then back to Lancaster Gate via the Italian fountains to complete a memorable morning in the park.
