Bouncing back

After feeling uncharacteristically glum yesterday with the way too hot temps, bites, etc, I awoke today in better spirits. Last night, we met Gary and his three children for a lovely dinner at Casa do Polvo. We had a good catchup and a stroll along the front before heading off to bed.

Today, we caught the ferry over the river to the beach - a much more amenable journey than yesterday's car, kilometre walk, train and further walk in temperatures just short of 40 degrees... Chuffin'ot!

We dipped in and out of the sea before heading back to our apartment for lunch.  After a bit of prep for tomorrow, we then visited Gary & co at their villa for a splash in their pond - an unlikely oasis off a dirt track. We had fun trying to catch frogs, attempting backwards dives (you can probably guess which one I was more in tune with!) and eating ice creams before heading back for dinner at Vincent's, a wonderful French restaurant and then doing final prep for tomorrow. Hoping for warmth of a different kind...
