Inchcolm Abbey

Dad and I went out to Inchcolm Island today, the weather was dreich, despite the forecast telling us for the last three days it would be fine!

Not many people on the Maid of the Forth this morning. We went to see the eastern gun emplacements first, then walked back through the munitions tunnel to visit the Abbey. It was the first time I'd been inside the Abbey and it is remarkably intact. This is the cloister, unusual in that the paths are built into the body of the structure. The walkways are rather dark on a dreich day.

The extra is a view of Queensferry Crossing, under contruction, with the Forth Road Bridge and the Forth Bridge in the background.
