Seas End...

Surfleet Seas End, to be precise, on a rainy and cool day with distinct overtones of autumn. 

After visiting Pete's Mum in the morning, we carried on to an old location for Autumn Lady's Tresses. Not surprisingly, we didn't find it, but parts of the sea bank were still quite species-rich with patches of Quaking Grass and Lady's Bedstraw, both of which are pretty rare in Fenland. There were also a couple of areas of saltmarsh on this tidal stretch of the River Welland.  A place to return to in better weather earlier in the season...
