Mighty Malachite

This is such a tiny wee Kingfisher, the malachite but what a beauty.  This morning we went for an early boat ride and caught the sunrise then went hunting for birds.  We wound up with some fish eagles who would come when called for fish (if they were hungry).  We tried again in the afternoon but gee it was hard work.   It is good there is another chance tomorrow.

Before lunch we went to our boatman's village.  The extra is his daughter, Yvonne.  She was so shy.  They live in a two room house that Sam (the boatman) had built.  There is Sam, his wife and three children.  No bathroom, running water, electricity.  He has a mattress for the three children which was airing outside because Yvonne wets it.  You come away from something like that realising just how lucky you are to live in the comfort that we do.

I put an extra up of the Mighty Malachite with dragon.
