Looks Good To Me

I went on a guided tour of one of Whatcom Land Trust's largest properties today. It's a 110-acre tract along the north fork of the Nooksack River, including a portion of Maple Creek and it's confluence with the river. The property was cleared, leveled, and drained by early settlers -- destroying large areas of salmon habitat. The Trust is gradually restoring the property to its original pristine condition.

After the tour there were a few speeches and a sit-down barbecue, with wine, and beer from the North Fork Beer Shrine, Pizzeria, and Wedding Chapel. It was a fine way to end a beautiful day out in scenic Whatcom County.
