Lazy Indian summer days

Our New Zealand friends S & R have been using our place in Deal for the week and we have popped down to see them before they head off to Belgium for a few days.
I am so pleased that the weather down here has behaved itself for them and they have had glorious sunshine.
I must say that l love these early autumn/late summer days. There is a mild goldness to the sun which seems to go on and on and those people that are about seem to have slowed to suit the atmosphere. The little beach huts seem to be closed up now - waiting for next year's visitors.The grass is very dry, all the fields are ploughed with huge walls of hay standing in them and the trees and vines are giving up their goodies
