Here you come again

This is Dolly the Sheep.  You may have heard of her - she was the result of highly controversial 'nuclear transfer' cloning in the 90's.  She was cloned at the Roslin Institute, which is part of Edinburgh University.  Born in 1996, Dolly lived for six and a half years and died of lung disease.   She was gifted to and is currently on display in Edinburgh's National Museum of Scotland.  Dolly successfully produced 6 perfectly healthy lambs.  Dolly was cloned from cells taken from the mammary gland, hence why she was named after Dolly Parton!  In these scientifically progressive times, who knows what's next...a mammoth walking down Princes Street perhaps?
