Moral dilemma

I came out of a "meeting" in Ringwood, some 20 miles from home, just as the first few drops of rain floated down.
I realised that I had hung out the laundry to dry before leaving home.

I sprinted to my car in the style of a early Le Mans race start, and sped home until the heavens opened and I was nearly washed away.

As I turned into our road, I saw water gushing from an overloaded storm water cover.

Do I continue with my journey, or stop, get out of the car and take the photograph?

Well, the washing could not get wetter at that stage, so here is the answer
