A day of contrasts

So today the planned walk was the Isle of Portland in Dorset with our walking group. My husband, having finished a mammoth indoor decorating session over several weeks decided to come with us today. Having driven for about 1.5 hours, the weather when we arrived was not very inviting. The sky was dark, it was raining hard and there was thunder and lightening. My husband would have quite happily driven home but we had passengers so we waited at least 45 minutes and it cleared up. The blip shows an inviting spot on our walk around the coast but the rain returned twice, once just as we neared our lunch spot right on the Portland Bill and again near the end of the walk when it hammered down again. An interesting piece of the coast to explore. Near the end we passed the Tout quarry sculpture park where anyone can do their bit of sculpturing. It looked very interesting and we would have stopped to explore further but we were rather wet by then so another visit will be planned in the future. The extra shows a misty Chesil Beach.
