All mine

An unusually hot day, the hottest September day since 1911, and reaching about 31C in Peterborough. After the morning taxi runs I had the rest of the day to myself, and managed to get quite a lot of work done and have a few breaks sitting in the shade in the garden.

I spotted this garden spider as I went out to see which insects were visiting the flowering ivy in the front garden. She had placed her web perfectly in the flight line to the ivy and was clearly very attached to her neatly parceled prey (a hoverfly, I think), holding on to it throughout her photo session!
