New building (Etches Collection) in Kimmeridge

A combined village hall and "Museum of Jurassic Marine Life"

This enormous building is due to be "opened" next month.

Clearly nobody is bothered about the narrow roads and sharp bends which visitors - including school parties in coaches - will have to negotiate.  The road will also carry farm tractors and machinery, as well as the daily petrol tanker from the Kimmeridge oil well.  A recipe for traffic chaos.

A building totally out of proportion in the context of this tiny village.  (At the very least they could have adorned the wall with a couple of ammonites!) For many reasons it is in the wrong place.

The only good news is that the colour of the stone will tone down within a few years, lessening the visual effect on the landscape created by this eyesore.
