Excursion

It seemed like a good idea to organise an ice-breaking walk with the new Masters students, but the weather really wasn't kind to us and only about a quarter of them turned up. Although one group of nine got up Arthur's Seat in the low cloud, wind and drizzle, the group I took through the park and up the Royal Mile were probably glad to reach the comforts of the Royal Museum of Scotland where I introduced them to the Lewis chessmen.
