Tous ceux qui boivent du vin sont des gens bien

Backblipping after another late night. This could get to be a habit. Wednesday's agenda: tapas and wine on the square with les Copains d'abord, a more conventional banda than yesterday's. This went on for quite a while, long enough for the singing of popular Occitan songs to get rather raucous. Then l'Art à Tatouille (say it quickly) in the amphitheatre, which was packed to the non-existent rafters; you could not physically have got any more people in.

They are a great, lively band playing Occitan electro-joc -- a mixture of traditional songs reworked, and their own compositions. Excellent for dancing to, but that was impossible for lack of space. People made up for it by clapping and joining in all their favourite songs, notably a rousing rendition of La chanson des cigales. Avec l'accent !

They were eventually allowed to leave not long before midnight, and the party continued on the square; we went to bed wearing ear plugs!

I picked this photo because it conveys some of the joy; have a listen, but you had to be there really :)
