Magische Säule

or "Magic Column".  A work of 2007 by Peter Lenk.  Definitely not something I would have thought to find in a very touristy place where we are currently on holiday.  You get points if you know where (without googling).

This is meant to be the poetess Annette von Droste-Hülshoff (who spent the last years of her life here) as a gull.  I'm sure you all remember her poem Am Thurme...

It's a new part of Germany for me and I'm thoroughly enjoying having a nose around and I'm looking forward to exploring more.
