Here we are in France after 6 hours on the Autobahn.

We saw 2 accidents on the Autobahn. Both involving trucks. The first one was truck that had collided to a wall on a downhill. Might have done something to do with the wind. The second one was a chain accident involving 3 trucks. That was on the opposite direction from us. The traffic jam after that was at least 10 kilometers long. There was loads of roadwork on the way. Our navigator takes all available traffic information and suggests optional routes if there's too much 'jam' ahead. We did take one of those to avoid 15 minute hold up. It's amazing how smart the machines can be. One of us is driving and another is minding the navigator to see what information is given ahead. It also tells how long the roadwork areas are, so you immediately and adjust to the length of it. It saves nerves!

Tomorrow we try to reach France Spanish border and check into a hotel just after the border. That will be our first motorway hotel try. So far we've been in towns. Let's see how that feels if we reach it. There's also a big outlet area near the hotel that I saw in July and thought I might want to check it out. Let's see if I get to do that too! I have no idea what kind of stores there are.
