The courtyard

We had a 5 hour round trip to Cockermouth today to have lunch with J, a friend for almost 50 years. We met when we worked together in Hong Kong. We spent most of the time discussing politics, and books. I came away with a pile to borrow.

It's unbelievable that we were able to have our pre-lunch G and T sitting in the sun in her courtyard. I don't think I've ever sat in it before. Mr C took her a bunch of his sweet peas, her favourites.

I'd better get an early night as we have to leave at 6.30 am to pick up Thomas and James. Their nursery is closed for training, so they are coming for the day - and night. Wish us luck. James is such a live-wire, we'll be shattered!
