Celtic Nations

Today's the day ........................... for a surprise visitor

A ring on the doorbell this morning announced a welcome but unexpected visitor.

It was Peter, a friend from university days - one of the ones who join in the annual narrowboat jaunt - on his way home to the Isle of Man after a visit to his brother down in Somerset.  So that was the perfect excuse for us to hoist the Celtic Nations flag in his honour. This flag represents Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Man, Ireland and Scotland - so it was very appropriate for the three of us.

We'll be hoisting another flag tomorrow, quite different from this one, for a couple of guests who will be staying the night.  They are not unexpected.  In fact we've been looking forward to them coming for a long time now.

Watch this space ..........................!
