Hart's-tongue in a grike

I'm enjoying a few days in my second favourite place, Arnside & Silverdale AONB, a close run thing with the Chilterns. I took one of my favourite walks this afternoon, through Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve. This lovely fern is one of the many plants that grow in the vertical crevices, known as grikes, in the limestone pavement that this reserve was established to protect.

This morning I went along to the wonderful exhibition All About Arnside and met up with Knottman2 and Mrs K, who gave a very interesting talk on the Wildlife of Arnside. My extra is the great advert Mr K had made for Blipfoto - I hope we get some new members.
