Cinderhill

With apologies to all those who commented on the dragonfly that I originally posted for today and who has now been assigned to extras . I had second thoughts because one of my rules is to post photos that remind me of my day even if they are not the best photos.  We had a good team out on the heath pulling up birch saplings . It was hard work because the heather was thick, the bracken was high and it was very hot.  I foolishly turned up in long shorts and long socks but with my knees exposed - the cuts are still healing.  I wish we could poison the birch stumps after we have cut them off because it does seem to be a never ending battle to stop this rare (for Kent) bit of heathland from become a birch wood .
