Brimham Rocks

A day of unexpected wall to wall sunshine.
Not what the weathermen forecast.

Perfect for our walk in Nidderdale with the walking club, from Fellbeck, to Brimham rocks, over Pateley Moor, and back to the Half Moon Inn and a well earned shandy.

The rocks formations are wonderful.
Balancing rock formations standing at a height of nearly 30 feet.
Caused by millstone grit being sculptured over centuries by ice, wind and rain.
The area is now owned by the National Trust.
Our children and grandchildren loved climbing them when they were younger.
Used to frighten me to death as I watched.
They seemed to have no fear!

A lovely day enjoyed by us all, even when fighting our way through the shoulder high bracken! I don't think many people had done the walk before us.
