Nithsdale Road Mosque, Glasgow

Glasgow Doors Open Weekend. Today I visited Madrasa Taleem Ul Islam. It was originally a private house, then a synagogue and now a mosque. I met several Muslim friends here and was made very welcome. I joined a tour, and sat at the back for the 2 pm prayers.

Then on to the Playhouse in Albert Drive. Interesting to see what is behind the wall. The project will be relocating after October.

Final stop at the Heritage Centre, ART PARK, beside the walled garden in Bellahouston Park. Excellent display panels on the rich history and architecture of Govan, and a room dedicated to a display of the Empire Exhibition in the park in 1938. The animated 'fly-through' is fascinating. The only permanent pavilion was the Palace of Art which is still in use today.
