Ruff & Dunlin

Some of the Orkney RSPB members and staff went on the annual trip around Sanday looking for migrants. Seventy species of bird recorded (including the ferry trips). Over 70 black-tailed and 240 bar-tailed godwits, greenshank, ruff, grey plover, and the other usual waders, sparrowhawk and kestrel, a flock of over 50 ravens, a spotted flycatcher, sandwich, comon and arctic tern etc etc. Thanks to Alan for driving and expertise (in birds , that is, not driving, obviously.)
