Pulling strings - Backblip

The morning started out promising another lovely day for both sailplane gliders and hang gliders  - and they do make a wonderful sight when they are all in the sky together but apart from a hearty breakfast I didn't spend much time at the gliding club  as I went out and about with my good friend Fi.

We had a gentle day as F is a keen cyclist and had taken part in a cycle event yesterday covering 75 miles, yes .....  75 miles.  No wonder she was feeling a little tender in quite a few places this morning.  We made our way to Much Wenlock and visited the museum there and a beautiful Exhibition of textiles in the lovely old Guildhall.  Lunch in the sunshine in the garden of the George & Dragon Pub and then the drive back to the Gliding Club via some very interesting narrow country lanes and stunning view points. We stopped off at a Shropshire Wildlife Trust Nature Trail hoping to see some Dragons(flies), late Orchids, birds or something of other interest, but found nothing, but by the time we were there it was late afternoon and the temperature was dropping fast so we were not very surprised..

By the time we got back to the Gliding Club for tea and cake the gliders were nearly all landed and only a few brave hang gliders were to be seen, still 'pulling their strings' on the other side of the ridge.
