The Eurasian Hoopoe

The great things about today were the magnificent sightings of many Himalayan Griffin (see extra) and this beautiful Eurasian Hoopoe.

However we also experienced a terrible thing, a mule was pushed off the path (called the Staiway to Heaven) and over a cliff to break its neck on the path below. It glanced off one of our group just before its final demise. Our group member is now walking wounded and the whole trip has taken on a slightly alarmed demeanor and slowed up significantly. We are not going to be able to do the proposed route sadly and our injured team member might have to be helicoptered out.

Bed by 8pm tonight, hopefully to sleep without nightmares of the poor mule.
