North coast 500

Day 7 last full day
Balmacara to Fortrose via Nairn

Amazingly peaceful night, no high winds rocking the van!
Long drive from the Kyle of Lochalsh back to civilisation today. We do have a mobile signal again but it was nice being totally away from it all. As the van has to be back to Inverness by 11am, decided to stay somewhere nearby. First stop was Nairn to walk on the beach and visit the Harbour Cafe for a proper coffee. Had a good chat with the older couple in the next table which sadly his wife was in the first stages of Altzheimers ...

Walked for miles along the beach, then we went to Rosemarkie to a site but was full up. Fortrose one had space, right on the Moray Firth. Walked down to Channonery Point in hope of seeing the Dolphins but they must have been frolicking elsewhere today... Walked into Fortrose for a carry out Chippy and back to the Van, talking about all the great times we have had this week. Walked past the small caravan next to us and thought they had a stuffed pony in the centre but then notice it's a massive St Bernard dog, along with a small yorkie!

Another early night that sea air sure tires you out!
