Classic Porto

Porto is famous for port wine, and in Porto this bridge across the river is often used as a symbol of the city.
We spent a lot of time today in Gaia, the town on the other side of the river that you see here.  Along the shore where you see the boats are all the port wine companies and cellars. We learned a lot about port, and tasted a few samples today.  Lunch was delicious fresh fish. We also managed a trip up and down the river on a boat.
The extras show a panorama shot of Porto, taken from the Gaia side of the river, and most of our G & T group, including Lis, our hostess.
In the evening we ate a classic Porto dish, francesinha, which consisted of a ham and beef sandwich, drenched in melted cheese and served with a spicy sauce and chips. You certainly know you've had dinner after this carbohydrate bomb!
Another day with plenty going on.
