Ightham Mote

Quite a while ago, Brens mentioned a book about Midhurst called Green Darkness by Anya Seton. It also featured Ightham Mote, East Sussex, and the description made us want to see it. Finally managed the drive over in gorgeous sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Picturesque both inside and out. Well worth the effort, even if we didn't see the ghost. There was a copy of Green Darkness casually displayed in the sitting room, but the guide hadn't read it and couldn't help us about the ghost"
