Fitz Life

The Costa del Clyde

Astonished by the sudden appearance of a vast flaming ball in the sky, we decided to take the Fitz family to the beach at Troon. The last day of the school holidays for many, so the beach was predictably busy, although we still managed to park within five minutes walk away and didn't need to queue for ice-cream.

We love Troon. Just 40 minutes away from Glasgow and you might as well be in another world. Today the weather was perfect, the sea was warm and the beach was filled with kids having a brilliant time, not least our little chap. Sandcastles were once again the order of the day, although Baby Fitz had his first proper paddle in the sea and loved it. We really must take him swimming more often as he is definitely a water baby. He even tried to swim in the bath later.

Truly, when the sun shines, there is no place like Scotland. I like this photo because of the people waving to the returning Ryanair flight, no doubt carrying a stag party back from Cracow or something. That's the Ailsa Craig in the distance too.
